AFTERCARE INSTRUCTIONS

Leave your bandage on for 2-4 hours. After you remove the bandage, gently wash your tattoo. Using warm water and mild soap gently wash away any ointment, blood and/or plasma and completely clean the area. Then pat dry with a clean paper towel. Follow with a very light application of Aquaphor. It is important to apply a thin layer of ointment because you want your healing tattoo to be able to breathe. Using a thick layer will not only cause the tattoo to heal slower but can also cause scabbing.

After 3 days, continue to keep your tattoo clean, but switch to a UNSCENTED, DYE FREE lotion. Lubriderm, Eucerin, and Aveeno Naturals are all great options.

Continue this until your tattoo is completely healed. Normally that is around 7-10 days. During this time it is also important to not pick or scratch at the tattoo, even if it itches!

*Always wash your hands before touching your tattoo!

Your new tattoo will be tender to the touch and feel like a sunburn. Be sure to wear loose fitting, clean clothing during the duration of the healing period.

-DO NOT re-bandage the tattoo. Unless instructed otherwise.
-ONLY use your hands when washing your tattoo, being careful not to be too rough
-DO NOT use a cloth towel to dry your tattoo, they can harbor bacteria.
-DO NOT pick or scratch the tattoo while it is peeling.
-DO NOT submerge the tattoo for two (2) weeks. No swimming, baths, hot tubs, etc.
-DO NOT shave or wax the area until fully healed.
-NO direct sunlight or tanning on the tattoo until completely healed.
